What does the Auto button do on an Audi TT? In amongst all of the climate/air-con controls on my 2002 Audi TT, there is a large button that says Auto. I have no idea what happens when I press this - what is it supposed to do?

I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 auto that is hard to start when the engine is cold.? It always starts but it takes 5 to 7 seconds of cranking before it does. When warm, it starts right away. I am concerned that my starter will give out if this continues. The dealer effectively says to "live with it". The check engine light is not on, and there are no computer fault codes. The car has 95,000 miles on it and all normal maintenance has been done. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? Thank you in advance.

Audi a4 1.8t auto trans does not select reverse.? I hope someone can help me out here. I bought a used audi a4 1.8t front drive automatic 1997. The transmission at times does not select reverse and while driving does not reach top gear. The selector lights on the dash all stay on. Has anybody out there experienced something similar with one of these cars and how does one fix it? Would appreciate your help.

Mobile Auto Service Technician for VW/Audi cars.? As a factory-certified auto master tech, I have constantly been thinking of setting up a repair shop for VW/Audi service, but unable to afford the rent cost for retail shop,other overheads and u.s laws paper work etc. involved in this venture. I am thinking to start as a mobile service tech for audi &VW cars until such time that my customer base would require such a shop, but have just two questions: 1.Is this type of mobile venture a profit making type in Maryland state like DC or Viginia? 2.Apart from my hand tools and other basic equipment, what other stuff should the onboard this mobile Van? reverse keeps coming out of my audi 80 was told it could be an elecrical problem, any ideas? It is an auto? it is an 1989 model, sometimes the reverse is fine but often not. Is their a law saying that I have to pay the insurance company of an auto accident of another partly? I hard an auto accident on March 07. I made a left turn at a Intersection at 10 mph and hit a 2007 Audi that is slightly damage to my 94 Caprice Chevy more damage was done to her Audi. No one was hurt. Police was notify. She had a witness. Now my insurance company say it was my fault also her insurance company since I have only 10,000 dollars in liability my insurance already paid her. Her insurance paid the other 15,000 which cover the total cost of 25,000 dollars. Her insurance company want to collect the other 15,000 from me. Then was her insurance for ? This sounds like extortion with her carrier. Is there a law saying I have to pay her insurance costs it was a dam accident. Since when and where does it say I have to pay for an accident that was pay by her insurance company. This is Extortion at the highest level. is it possible to convert a car (audi a4)with an automatic transmission to a manual transmission? There is a 99 audi A4 2.8 quattro for sale for $8000, how ever my dad is good friends with the seller, and would sell it to us for 3.5K the only thing is it's an auto, and i REALLY want a manual, so is there any way to swap an auto trans for a manual trans for under $4000, because thats how much i would save.

07 Audi A3 2.0 S-tronic auto transmission problem? Hi, I hope someone can help me answer my question. My A3 is making a clunking sound fr the transmission when in 2nd gear (driving slow when trans is hot) when I nudge the accelerator. It does not happen when in 1st or in other gears. And sometimes it makes thumping sound when shifting (not in motion) quickly from reverse to 'D' and vice versa during parking. I took it to the dealer and they told me it is normal but I think the symptoms is getting worse. I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me solve my problem, thank you.

Why do i have to shift to "2" in my 1997 Audi A4 and then into D to get it to go in D? I think its the shifter bushing, but maybe the linkage cable is loose, It an auto, and if i go into d it just revs but if i go back to 2 and forward to d its fine so the shifter has slack in it. If its the bushing, where is that located and if its the linkage how do i adjust it? Thanks.

Battery has been checked by Auto Zone. They charged it. Car cranked up after installed. 1 hour later it won't start again. From some of these posts, sound like we should start with the alternator.
