With this diagnostic tool which you connect to the obd-II and a laptop. You can read/reset all fault codes. And you can modify certain parameters. Such as turning off DRL, Remote window lowering, or log engine stats. It costs $150 and is worth every penny. You could also borrow one, TDIclub.com has a list of registered vagcom users who are willing to help. I know this is not a question but the previous answers did not answer the question. The correct answer is Vagcom.

What does the Auto button do on an Audi TT? In amongst all of the climate/air-con controls on my 2002 Audi TT, there is a large button that says Auto. I have no idea what happens when I press this - what is it supposed to do?

I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 auto that is hard to start when the engine is cold.? It always starts but it takes 5 to 7 seconds of cranking before it does. When warm, it starts right away. I am concerned that my starter will give out if this continues. The dealer effectively says to "live with it". The check engine light is not on, and there are no computer fault codes. The car has 95,000 miles on it and all normal maintenance has been done. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? Thank you in advance.

How much does it cost to replace the clutch on an 05 Audi S4? I know audis are expensive to fix in general and i dont need to replace it yet but i was just curious to how much it would be to replace the clutch on my car. The dealership told me it would be about 2000. Is that roughly what it will cost no matter if i go to another auto shop.

Why do i have to shift to "2" in my 1997 Audi A4 and then into D to get it to go in D? I think its the shifter bushing, but maybe the linkage cable is loose, It an auto, and if i go into d it just revs but if i go back to 2 and forward to d its fine so the shifter has slack in it. If its the bushing, where is that located and if its the linkage how do i adjust it? Thanks.

i did a neutral drop in my 98 audi a6 wat did i break? help? got a 98 audi a6 auto tranny with triptonic shifting. the whole car jerked wen i slammed it into drive (i know im an idiot). the car shut off. i pulled over put it into park, started it back up now it wont show wat gear im in on the dash and if i try to push the gas it feels like your starting off in 5th gear, the engine revs up but car barely moves. totally shuts off wen i go over 20mph. wat did i break in the tranny?? hydrolic linkage? tourque converter???

Battery has been checked by Auto Zone. They charged it. Car cranked up after installed. 1 hour later it won't start again. From some of these posts, sound like we should start with the alternator. Can we do it ourselves?

Audi a4 1.8t auto trans does not select reverse.? I hope someone can help me out here. I bought a used audi a4 1.8t front drive automatic 1997. The transmission at times does not select reverse and while driving does not reach top gear. The selector lights on the dash all stay on. Has anybody out there experienced something similar with one of these cars and how does one fix it? Would appreciate your help.

Mobile Auto Service Technician for VW/Audi cars.? As a factory-certified auto master tech, I have constantly been thinking of setting up a repair shop for VW/Audi service, but unable to afford the rent cost for retail shop,other overheads and u.s laws paper work etc. involved in this venture. I am thinking to start as a mobile service tech for audi &VW cars until such time that my customer base would require such a shop, but have just two questions: 1.Is this type of mobile venture a profit making type in Maryland state like DC or Viginia? 2.Apart from my hand tools and other basic equipment, what other stuff should the onboard this mobile Van? What does Skoda have to do to muscle in to the U.S. market? My guess is re-introduce the schwimmwagen. This was a special volkswagen that was made for the wermacht in WW2. It was a volkswagen chassis that was made into a boat. It could be driven on land or in the water. Now that Skoda is making cars designed by employees of volkswagen (actually the audi/auto union design team) They could find the old schwimmwagen blueprints and probably make a modern version with fibreglass and various old VW beetle parts they still make in South America. This vehicle could be sold as a boat, so it would'nt have to meet U.S. safety and emissions reg.s I'm pretty sure that they could buy licence plates from Mexico, and the cops would have to let you drive it on the street because of fine print in the NAFTA treaty. reverse keeps coming out of my audi 80 was told it could be an elecrical problem, any ideas? It is an auto? it is an 1989 model, sometimes the reverse is fine but often not. Have any European auto makers developed a hybrid, or is there one about to be released? Honda and Toyota have hybrids, and the best that America can do is introduce a small SUV to add to the hybrid list. Is any auto manufacturer in Europe, like BMW, Audi, Saab, VW, Opel, Fiat, Volvo, Mercedes, etc coming out with a hybrid (their gas prices are way higher than n the U.S.)
